  • Cognitive Disassociation

It's important to note the other significant part, in playing a position how players visualize their calculation.

Lower rank players tend to use a lot of words describing their position, and they have to visualize the whole picture of a chess position.the tendency to describe their thinking process all in words is rooted from the disability and discomfort of visualization. They find it necessary to have a full understanding and seeing of what happens on the board.

Grandmaster do not commonly visualise all of the position, or do they deliberately use words in their thinking. It's because they memorize the positions using the relations of pieces, not the whole of positions. They have a strong associations of ideas, hence they do not have to reduce their anxiety using discourse, considering the following:

When men using words to form sentences, they think by forming sentences the sentences would actually mean something, but sentences by itself do not necessarily mean anything, nor do the writers by writing sentences understand anything.

It's possible to assume the necessity of verbal discourse would increase prejudice, hence rather than using words, the relations of pieces should come closer that players may see them at first instance and us by freely form plans accordingly
